Features |
- Near “real” visualisation of
marine environment
- Own ship and target vessel
exhibit movement in 6 degrees-of-freedom
- Vast range of navigational
scenarios including coastal navigation, high traffic
density areas, arrival and departure ports, berthing
and unberthing, anchoring and others.
- Varying conditions of
visibility, time, wind, current, tides, weather can be
simulated.
- The ship behaviour is
rigorously modeled to correctly exhibit ‘6
degrees-of-freedom’ under combined effect of internal
,external and interactive forces
- Software is entirely modular,
scalable and customisable.
- Instructor maintains full
control over external factors affecting navigation ,
status of navigation equipment and others.
- Trainee knowledge and expertise can be evaluated and improved by deliberate introduction of errors by the instructor during the course of an exercise

Capabilities of Instructor Station |
Instructor Station is provided with following functionalities to make each exercise an effective learning tool.
- Create exercises
- Position own and target
vessels
- Create route plans for target
vessels and own vessel
- Set environmental factors
including time of day, visibility, wind, current, tide
etc.
- Create zones within exercise
area each with its own characteristics of wind,
current and tide
- Load and play required
exercise
- Monitor all parameters and
events continuously from instructor station
- Introduce faults and errors
at strategic moments during conduct of exercise where
their effect can be maximized
- Create replays for debriefing
purposes
- Pause, resume, stop, rewind,
replay exercises as required
- Change parameters, relocate
vessels as required during running exercise
- Communicate with trainee as
VTIS operator, Tug master, shore control etc. as
required
- Set configurable parameters of ship’s equipment

Scalability & Options: |
At the heart of all ARI simulators is an advanced architecture platform that enables unprecedented degrees of modularity. Depending on the training objectives, numerous configurations are possible, be it a stand-alone bridge or interactive multi-bridges, with hardware or without, and with or without panoramic visualizations. Bridge Team Management Simulator can be built on the existing base RADAR / Steering simulator and in future it is possible to upgrade the simulator to Full Mission Ship Maneuvering Simulator by interfacing additional Navigational equipment and Panoramic Visualization Screens. |
Bridge Team Management Simulator is available with following peripheral options; |
- Metal consoles, of
shipboard appearance, for housing computer(s)
and monitor(s).
- Telegraph and steering
wheel
- Overhead indicators
- Integrated maneuvering
unit (gaming console) including steering wheel,
telegraph, steering controls, sound signal
controls etc.
- Large size projection for visual scenario
